Calling all fans of Harry Potter, the moment that you are all waiting for has arrived! Harry Potter: The Exhibition has finally made its way to the ArtScience Museum in Singapore and will be on display from 2 June to 30 September 2012! Fans will be brought into the world of Harry Potter as hundreds of artifacts, authentic costumes and props from all eight Harry Potter films will be on display right before your very eyes.
With the exhibition inspired from the epic film series, fans will enter into the magical world of Harry Porter and journey through the famous wizard’s world to experience the wonders of the various sets in the film such as Hogwarts Castle, Gryffindor common room, Hagrid’s hut, and the Great Hall.
When there’s magic, you can’t forget about mystical creatures and evil baddies lurking around! Magical life-size figures from The Forbidden Forest like the Centaur, a Thestral, and a giant Acromantula will be on display. Not forgetting the Dark Forces, where the costumes of Voldemort and his Death Eaters can be found.
Fans can also interact with the exhibits too which in turn will product noise and speech.
I was at the media preview of Harry Potter: The Exhibition and had a rare opportunity to take a photo with the twins, James and Oliver Phelps, who acted in the movie, Harry Potter. They are extremely tall and friendly at the same time!
The overall exhibit was very impressive as the designer took pain to source every piece of artifact and put them together in a beautifully decorated hall. I felt like I was in the actual movie set for a while especially the Great Hall! It was very stunning with colourful glass mosaic shining through. Scenes of the Harry Potter movie are also shown on the TV screens around the exhibit hall to bring back memories of fans as they view the exhibits. I am sure fans of Harry Potter will be extremely immersed with the exhibition for an up-close and intimate Harry Potter experience with the audio guide listed by numbers across the exhibits.
Over at the Harry Potter souvenir shop, Harry Potter fans will be thrilled that replicas such as magical wands, accessories, costumes to even maps are on sale. Do remember to check out if you’re visiting the exhibition!

Looks great. I’m a Harry Potter fan but I might be in Singapore during July, only for 2 days. Would you recommend it to a visitor coming to Singapore only for 2 days? It will be my first time in Singapore.
And wow, you were lucky to meet the Phelps twins!
Hi Anarya, I will definitely recommend you to visit the Harry Potter exhibition since you’re a fan of it! You can spend up to an hour or more with the exhibition and since ArtScience Museum is located at Marina Bay Sands, you can visit nearby attractions such as the Singapore Flyer, Esplanade and take a river cruise to enjoy the scenery and nightscape of Singapore. Not forgetting, shopping and food at various malls at Marina Bay Sands as well as those nearby like Raffles City and Marina Square especially this season of the Great Singapore Sale.
It will be a great to experience Singapore this day and I’m sure your 2 days will be well-spent.
Thanks a lot for replying Calvin! Thanks for your advice. I’m actually a bit worried about how to see everything important in those two days! I think there’s a lot to do in Singapore but I don’t have enough time. Would you recommend the Botanic Gardens and Jurong Bird Park? I’m definitely planning to go to Chinatown, but I’m not sure if I should go to Little India. Anyway, what else would you recommend? Sentosa?
Hi Anarya, you’re most welcome. Just doing my bit to make your first visit in Singapore more enjoyable.
I would recommend you to visit Gardens by the Bay, a brand new attraction in Singapore to visit one of the most beautiful and state of the art garden. It’s accessible through Marina Bay Sands too. I won’t recommend Botanic Gardens as there’s nothing much there…
Yes, you should visit Sentosa that ha Resorts World Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore over there. Jurong Bird Park would be nice to visit if you have time as it is pretty out of the way to travel to the far western part of Singapore.
Both Little India and Chinatown are near to the city area but would recommend Chinatown which has more food and shopping choices.
Hope that helps.
Thanks a lot again Calvin! You’re very kind.
. What about Kampong Glam? Sorry about the 10,000 questions I’ve asked!
I didn’t know about the Gardens by the Bay. I’d love to hear about how that is once it opens to the public. Thanks for posting the link for that too!
Hehe, I was planning to skip Little India. I’d prefer to go to Chinatown instead, as you suggested.
Thanks a lot again! And you have a great blog here. I’ve subscribed
Hi Anarya, you’re most welcome.
At Kampong Glam you will find the Malay community in Singapore. Though they used to stay in kampong houses made of wood, those are no longer around anymore.
If you’re into visit cultural places, why not visit our National Museum where you can learn about the history, people and culture of Singapore. It is within the Arts district where the Singapore Art Museum is just a stone’s throw away.
Ah thanks for that information! I’ll check that out too (the National Museum I mean)! Actually I’m eager to see the mosque at Kampong Glam. I’ve also heard Kampong Glam got some great Arab food. But then there’s so much to see and taste already!
Yes Anarya, there’s so much to see and do in Singapore and 2 days is really not enough to fully experience it.
So right. It’s not in my hands though unfortunately. Maybe if I visit once again, I’ll be able to see more things
you took photos with the twins!?!?!?!?!?! WEI SHE MO MEI YOU BRING WO:( cries loudly*
